We found what we originally thought was a snake on the 27th of September, my son Brandon's 7th birthday.

It turned out to be a legless lizard. I knew this as the shape of the head is way off being a venomous snake or a python plus the remnants of legs along the side of the body kinda gave the game away. This is easily the biggest I've evr seen & it was so patient with me taking it's photo despite the fact that all of us including the dog walked right over the top of it!! Lucky it wasn't venomous with a bad temper!!

Interesting shot, we Brits don't do snakes very well.I was in India once walking in a bird reserve called Keoladeo Ghana (Bharatpur is the more famous name), and while looking around through my binoculars I saw a snake slithering towards me...I moved off pretty sharpish I can tell you. Turned out when I described it to my host that it was a harmless water-snake. They just have such cold eyes don't they.

Where in WA are you? Got friends and (wife's) rellies in Perth and Cervantes.
