very nice all of the red moons. Not so much luck out here. The moon didn't really rise enough and the sun didn't set enough for us to see the lunar eclipse much at all. Oh well, I guess the one last August was enough.

Bill,

Nice shot!

No EXIF left in your moon :) What did you shoot with (lens/settings)? IT looks a bit fuzzy but it might be due to the fact that it's a full crop.
Feb 21 2008 18:23 GMT PaP67
WoW total success !

I don't understand why the exif didn't upload - I even tried a single this morning wondering if the FT bulk uploading was stripping the info - but it wasn't there. I know the exif info is still in these 150 or so shots - I checked both in PSP and with desktop exif and the info is there.
anyhow - this particular one was 300mm (450) 5.6 and 3 seconds. I think the ISO is 200, for some bizarre reason PSP doesn't find that particular info.
Heavy, heavy editing to mute and brighten the lightness - then multiple uses of sharpness tools and digital noise removal.

I just checked in the Nikon s/ware and the ISO was 250 and F8 - 3 seconds is correct

Top series, wonderful.

For the one in 2010, perhaps try a higher ISO, so that you can shorten your exposure some.... It will also help with the noise issues.

I had decided that the weather wasn't likely to cooperate, so I had booked myself otherwise. Then.... it was nice and clear. Thank you mother nature.

hahaha - I know she's a b*tch!!

the ones I shot at a higher ISO were very noisy - the exposure time may have been a little long, but.... there's always 2010...... as long as the weather cooperates..:-))

You did a better job of capturing the details than I did- I used the tripod and had to use my second choice for a telephoto lens (more on that later- it's a sad story ;-( ), so I wasn't able to get as sharp a photo as I would have liked to.

Like I said- you did a nice job of capturing the event...

Great series Bill.
I love the captures. The editing is part of creating a nice shot, so no apologies for that.
Thanks for the Exif info, I was wondering until I saw the thread.
I shot mine at ISO 400 at F5.6 and 1 second.
Unfortunately, I did not have a shutter cable and my fingers were freezing.
Hope to have better luck next time in 2010

I saw this last night Bill, but my little zoom 75/300 could not do it - LOL ! Great series, my friend ! I have to fav one of the moons for posterity !
Feb 22 2008 03:59 GMT PhotoPro PRO
thank you Manny!

this was shot with my 70-300mm - the 450 is just from the conversion factor due to the sensor size
