Our community fire department held an open house last month.

Our firefighters and paramedics are required to have a college degree before they can go through the extensive training and certification. All are cross-trained on all facets and because of the river along the city border they are also trained on winter and water rescue.

The firefighters demonstrate how to help people trapped in a car using the "jaws of life", a miraculous tool that has save so many thousands of lives!
