bill, I don't think they are mountains out here until they reach 4,000 ft. :)
We can almost see them. I saw the outline of Mt. Lassen today. Still can't see Mt. Shasta.
Bill, no cheap shots, we both grew up in the midwest and I know anything higher than a freeway overpass may be called a mountain and a lot of creeks are called rivers. Its just semantics although living in the shadow of 12,000 foot plus mountains now, I think it is funny. All relative eh? But them are hills in my book, hehehehehe. :-)) Just messing with you!
BTW guys, I've driven up Pikes Peak, Mt Hood, Mt St Helens, driven in the Alps and been on top of several mountains there, visited CA every summer for about 15 years in the Bay Area and went to the various sites around there. Doug you said it perfect - it's all relative!!
I did look up the Ozark Mountains BEFORE I made that comment, bill. :)))) It's actually quite beautiful there. I can find the beauty anywhere.
The tallest mountain I've been near is Mt. McKinley. Wouldn't mind going back to Alaska and Denali. I think it's our prettiest state....and, yes, I've been to them all.
