Our community fire department held an open house last month.
Our firefighters and paramedics are required to have a college degree before they can go through the extensive training and certification. All are cross-trained on all facets and because of the river along the city border they are also trained on winter and water rescue.
I would have been a fireman (I love the romance of the fire, actually fighting one) but the humdrum of the cleanup and daily routine between excitement deterred me. I joined the Navy instead...keep 'em coming, Bill! Hope you had a very nice Thanksgiving!
