This year was a real disappointment compared to last year:

So I just practised with different settings and worked with distance(read papparazzi) portraits

adding light is a great point - I shot this as raw and added a lot of overall light and also highlight light, just didn't feel like going to the trouble of doing spot lightening... :-))
