This historic courthouse is where the famous Dred Scott trial(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dred_Scott) took place.

This case was one of the major causes for the US Civil War(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Civil_War) in which more Americans died than in EVERY war since then added together. It pitted brother against brother and separated families.
