Bill, I feel you could improve this by applying the "rule of thirds" to this compostition.

Move the flower to either the lower right or left of centre, or the upper right or left. This way the eye will move from the centre straight away and onto the flower (or weed?!).

The exposure, colour balance and depth fo field are fine.

thank you biggles - great point. the only reason I didn't shift it was laziness(no excuse) and I shot it with my telephoto from 20' away - had trouble getting the auto-focus to work on this small an object and forget to recompose after it focused........ ;-(
