Last week I spent a sunny day with friends in the region of Gruyères, the aera producing the well-known Swiss cheese.
From Moléson Village (1109 m above sea level) a funicular railway (built in 1998) leads you first up to the middle station Plan-Francey (1517 m above sea level). From there a cableway brings you to the mountain Moléson (2002 m above sea level) with a Restaurant at its summit.
During a clear day you can see an impressive panorama of the Alps, the Lake Geneva area, Jura Mountains, the Central Plateau and the peaks of the Bernese Oberland.
