On Sunday 22nd August, with 32°, I had a great pleasure to walk with my brother and his wife around Lake Tuerler nearby Zurich, part of a little nature reserve.
With the way around the lake and through the surrounding forests, the lake is a popular recreational area. A Beach and other beaches and bars offer swimming. In the first place is the scenery on Türlersee a wealth of nature and nature conservation area with banks, species-rich flat and slope bogs and dry grasslands. As a breeding ground for frogs and toads, the lake is of cantonal importance.
In 1944, the first regulation on protection of Türlersee was adopted, which was adjusted due to the steadily increasing influx of visitors in 1998 and 2001 (Protection of 17 December 2001). An intensive recreational use is for this reason only in demarcated areas, "In the area of the camp, near the main road at the northern end of the lake and the so-called" ditch witch.
Because of its sheltered location between the water of the Albis and Aeugsterberg Türlersee is hardly circulated. Therefore, the water circulation is supported in the winter with a circulation system.
