Pictures of the 150 years' celebration of the railway connection between Berne-Fribourg-Lausanne, Switzerland
150 years ago, on 4 September 1862, the 352 meters long and 80 meters high viaduct "Grandfey" was commissioned. Thus the first direct connection between Bern and Lausanne was created. The viaduct has since been considered a symbol of overcoming the "Rösti ditch" *) in the truest sense of the word for the connection between the German and western Switzerland.
