Another local triumph! Meet the Brierley Hill Ponies!
From the official publicity: "Inspired by 'King Bladud's 'Pigs' sculpture trail in Bath 2008, the Brierley Hill Arts and Culture Development Group and Dudley Performing Arts have launched a similar trail in and around Brierley Hill from 24 July to 25 September 2010.
"30 ponies have been placed along a walking trail around Brierly Hill, starting at St Michael's Church, Moor Street car park.
"29 of the ponies have been designed and decorted by Dudley schools and colleges who have been working with artists to facilitate the design and decortion of each pony.
"Each pony is dynamically different from the next - all sorts of themes and materials have been used to bring the sculptures to life."
With our grandchildren we spent a happy afternoon last week on a pony hunt, following the map to find 21 of the ponies. Each one is different and the schools all gave their pony a name.
Worth looking at original size to see some of the detail. A few of them have been vandalised, but mostly they're very happy to meet people ;o)
