Bay of Islands - view from the motel

The day before the area had experienced heaiest daily rainfall in 150 years .. major flooding, slips and general chaos (no loss of life though as far as I am aware). Flooding spoilt the view somewhat with major discolouration out to sea some way

Two units of the motel about 200 yards away (and at river level) that i was considering staying at were washed away .. the camping ground destroyed and rest of the motel flooded !!!!!

Oh how terrible Roger… and the tsunami in the Solomon Islands… this will be a year of flooding I fear… hurricane season starts in June.
