Founders Heritage Park - Nelson is a replica historic village containing many of the old historic buildings and artefacts of Nelson. It is a relatively sanatised depiction of colonial life but interesting all the same.

A replica of Dr Busch's Windmill marks the entrance. He made a disastorous mis-diagnosis of "whooping cough" on an embarking family borading the immigrant ship he came out on leading to the death of 65 children onboard. Upon arriving in Nelson he turned to other ventures, one was a windmill which failed because a lack of wind during colder months
