3800 m Bill we climbed to about 4100 where the main square is ... but the people live at about 4200 a bit further up

Unfortunately there is thick smoke all over the city from vegetation fires to the north. Very surreal atmosphere

fire smoke & smog suck!!

in cities sitting in basins (usually a prehistoric lake - long dried up) like Mexico City the smog has no where to go. LA has a similar problem for a different reason - the mountains east of the city block escape that way an on the west - well the wind from the Pacific is almost always blowing inland
