I love having a dog who tells me what she wants. I guess many still follow the old school of thought that we must act as dominant pack leaders and our dogs should behave as submissive followers. But I advocate a trusting, less subservient relationship, treating dogs as companions or family members. I don’t need to get physical with Holly, even though she weighs about as much as me, and I have a lot of fun with training.
