Kawa Kawa . Northland . NZ.

This amazing public toilet was designed by the Austrian painter and architect Friedrich Hundertwasser 1928 - 2000.
He moved to New Zealand in 1973 and lived near Kawa Kawa for the remainder of his life.
He is quoted as saying that a toilet is a place of meditation and that straight lines are ' evil ' . Hence there are no straight lines in the building .
This building was a community project , initiated by the Kawa Kawa business association and was opened in 1999.
Kawa Kawa has become a ' must see ' mecca for Hundertwasser devotee's from around the world.

I do not normally take my camera into a public toilet but I think you will agree ... this was an exception .

Im so glad you took your camera into the loo, great decor for a normally dismal place like a public loo.
