yes. the helicopters are taking off from Benton. I might go there tomorrow. The tankers are taking off at the cdf place at Redding international hahaha. you know how to get to the viewing area of calfire...formerly cdf...???? north of the main airport entrance on airport blvd. follow the signs. bring chairs as the benches are really uncomfortable and better to go in the afternoon because of the sun.
