LostInOregon's Fotothing

The trail starts at Three Creeks Lake at elevation 6,500 ft. In the distance you can see the sheer cliff walls of the rim. The first mile is a steep climb up to the rim plateau. The high point in the picture is a great view point at elevation 7,700. Oh my god there's a lot of snow up here. Large patchs of snow are still covering many parts of the trail even though it's mid July.
