A Kea sits at the Arthurs Pass Village, New Zealand’s only native parrot.
They may look quiet and innocent, but they are not. They love to attack anything rubber on your car, windshield wipers, rubber moulding strips, anything they will destroy with their very strong beaks. They also do not take no as an answer, they are very persistent and crafty.
But don’t let that put you off visiting NZ, Kea live in the mountains and mostly something of a problem around ski fields and alpine towns.
