All lakes and rivers in New Zealand are trout waters; lucky us: the town of Gore, which is a few kilometres, (or miles), from this river, purports itself to be "The Trout Capital of New Zealand"; and attracts many overseas visitors for the fishing, and our world famous hospitality of course. :-)
