This is what remains of the French yacht that set out on an attempt to beat the record for travelling around the world in a sailing vessel.
The $NZ16 million Groupama 3 left the English Channel on January 24 but on Monday 18th February in the Southern Ocean, 150km off Dunedin, New Zealand, while skirting around the rougher patches of the southern seas, one of the yachts hulls snapped, it slit off and the yacht capsized, smashing the mast in three and flipping the yacht over, (report courtesy of The Otago Daily Times),
It was salvaged by the crew and bought to Otago Harbour.

That is, "what's left of it", looks like Luaretta.
It came into the harbour yesterday upside down because they couldn't turn it over at sea; that was done with a crane.

I was wondering what the yacht looked like and have not had time to go down fro a look. I thought you might have some photos from the Airshow over the weekend. I would have liked to get some photos but was to busy packing up the house in preparation for sale.

Yes they are Roger, and they are covering the bills for the savage also; a slow trip home on a container vessel.

I have some aircraft captures, but not of the air show proper; I was involved with the golf club over the weekend.
