It's always beautiful to see frozen white trees !! But I suppose you are nevetheless glad that autumn is coming at first John !! :+)

Ruth, I haven't lived in my home country of New Zealand for five years now, so I haven't seen a frost or felt really cold weather in that time.
It was beautiful to visit, I lived near the coast and this is inland in the Province of Otago. I lived through really cold times, working on farms and in the outdoors and that was my main motivation in moving to Perth, Western Australia, it's much, much warmer here.

Gunter, I couldn't live all year round here either. Central Otago is renowned for hot summers and cold winters and very clear skies. Hoar frosts can hang around for weeks on end where frozen fog hangs in the valleys and the towns, but you can often see that the sun is shining, but it can not penetrate the fog; lovely to visit.
