I have seen some unusual things in my life, this is up there with the best.
Coogee Beach, Western Australia; these girls turned up at the beach with a weed-eater, (also known as a weed-wacker, used for trimming grass), and some attachment for it I didn't recognise. I didn't see what they did with it.
