Fire, a curse for this time of the year here; we came across this bush fire on the side of the road as we travel to the beach today; fortunately it was a controlled burn-off, as one of the fire fighters told me.

The wildfires make for dramatic shots----here in southern California we have had our share this year, from Santa Barbara on down to Camp Pendleton (I got 'em both)...
The scene you photographed has a surrealistic look to it, and is well composed and executed. I never made it to Perth...darnit!!!

Thanks Wildspirit; it is early in the season here and already there have been many fires, not major ones yet, and all around the areas I drive I see signs of earlier fires and how Mother Nature has gone about repairing the damage.
