This was my view from a second storey bedroom of my unit when I lived in my home town of Mosgiel in New Zealand. Love the country, don’t miss the snow.

The side of the hill was a City owned pine tree plantation, so every thirty years or so great blocks of trees would be cut down, the land cleared and new trees planted.

It looks wonderful, John! Do you miss it? Or have you got similar views in Perth?

Thanks for comment and questions Pam. I do miss a few things about my old home town, as anyone will tell you, you can take a person out of a country but you can't take the country out of the person. I miss my family members the most, must have been so much harder pre-internet for people. I DON"T miss the weather, as I have said before, I moved to Perth primarily because of the weather; having said that, it's the weather that makes New Zealand the place that it is, and I guess the same can be said for the UK.

Thanks Marg. You are a well travelled person within New Zealand, have you been to Mosgiel. Being a small town, like so many others it is a service town, predominately farming and forestry; you have to pass it to get to and from the airport to the city proper.
