there were several of these guys running around begging the park's visitors for handouts

they actually scampered across my feet... stood up and posed and begged

impossible to resist doing the wrong thing

winter time the road thru lassen is snowed in... actually for about 9 months out of the year it is impassible

i guess these guys make due during that time or they'd be extinct by now ;-)

therein lies my rationalization for giving up a few goldfish crackers to them ;-)
