At the Scottish Festival I started searching out the Keith Clan tent in hopes of finding some information about my clan.... LMAO our family has claimed this clan since I can remember...
So... anywho... turns out the guy running that tent was merely there with his little wifeypoo from LosAngeles promoting some book she'd written about how her family started Hollywood and even named it (hmmm what does this have to do with the Scottish Festival?). He quite snobbily told me that if my family name wasn't on his list then there was NO way I was associated with the Keith Clan... and seemed totally uninterested in offereing me any help in any way shape or form... although he did offer to SELL me one of his Wifeypoo's books!!! PFFT hahahahahaha
So..... Mark and I decided we'd to to his clan tent and see what we could find out for him.. he's 100% Scottish and me just a mere 50% Scottish :-)
So off to visit his tent.... where lo and behold this wonderful gentlemen answered all my questions and handed me a book with a bit of information.... seems my fam is with a district NOT a clan :-D I've still not broken the news to mum :-S
Anywho.... LOL as I'm reading this snippet in the book he handed me I'm noticing a LOT of familiar names.... my great great Xsome number ancestors from our family diaries and pedigrees!
ROFL!!!! WAHOO I LOVE HISTORY!!!!
He was kind enough to let me photograph the findings.... (this is just another example of how I'm soooooo gonna end up in jail for photographing things I shouldn't LOL) Will you all come visit me in there????? hahaha
"Lisa the Highlander" ....... start your own book then. But your research is going to be costly! I hope you don't speaks like Kenny Daglish (one of my soccer star)
LOL no I have quite the thick Iowa accent I'm told LOL... And we have most of the research done already. My direct family came to the states during the pioneer days... we've got the diaries from those days... most interesting reading about traveling by covered wagons and trading with the indians... RAD STUFF.... seems this was the one thing that just never made sense to my mum.... Problem Solved now... Now I've just got to get on the phone and tell her LOL....
