On the 30th of April we celebrate the Queen Mother's birthday, it's called Queensday here. In the 60s there used to be a big party in front of the palace and people could come up the stairs to the palace to bring gifts and even shake hands with her.
Later this changed when her daughter took over the throne, she still celebrates Queensday on April 30th but visits two cities or towns.
