that's why I resisted so much to get the cat for Sarita....I trained myself not to get attached to animals because of suffereing a lot in my childhood when they died...

Only white cats with a blue and green eye and with blue eyes are deaf, at least most of the time.
Mick had green eyes and a few black hairs, so he wasn't deaf. Just when he wanted to be.

I feel your pain!
My first cat died three years ago and I still miss him very much even though I now have Socks.
Our pets always hold a special place in our hearts and the love they give us is worth the pain of their passing..... Mick was a beautiful cat.
