The archdiocese basilica of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul - the oldest historical monument in my city. Construction of the first cathedral - a three - nave pre - Romanesque basilica - was many times destroyed and restored. There are 12 chapels and 2 sacristies adjacent to the side naves and the ambulatory. The temple is 81 metres long and wider than 40 metres. The main nave is almost 25 metres high. Bronze door in the portal depicting scenes from the lives of St Peter (on the outside) and St Paul (inside). Over the portal there is a high Gothic window with a rosette and above it a staircase Gothic gable with blank windows. The Baroque domes of the spires were renovated after WWII.
Inside are the statues St Barbara and St Catherine. There is also late Baroque crucifix and Baroque statue St John. Late Gothic choir stalls dating from the beginnings of the 17th century, the late Baroque pulpit and baptismal font from 1720.
One day will add some more shots presenting them :)
