Thank you Elly. I love wooden floor too... that's why I'm removing all the laminat and exchanging it for the wood. It creates a mess and it's a lot of work, but in few weeks it will all look the way I like it :)
you mean "made" that you made the wood planks yourself or just installing it on your floors? that's what I'm doing right now too... I just don't like the preparation so much but putting it on the floor is great :) you see the result right away :)
this is going to be a different room once you are finished....it is going to have
a warm atmostphere....
i think you are brave to start a project so big, but the result will be worth it.. for sure..!
we have tiles in our house in Pretoria... I like wooden floors better....!
no chyba, że tak ale jak jest drzewo za suche to trochę wilgoci i podłoga zaczyna mieć fale... sam się o tym przekonałem jak składałem w swoim pokoju:D
Liz, thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I did start on much bigger project when I bought a house that was big enough for my liking but in a state that required loooots of work... and I thought then I could do it easily...
it's been more than 2 years and I'm far from being finished... but most of the time I'm happy with every completed job :)
This time is just the kitchen floor and the workshop... and then I'll again make my workspace the way I want :)
I have just moved on from carpet to a laminate floor and I love the marvelous wood grain design on it - its like a great abstract painting all under my feet - my next step is a real wooden floor :) - if ever I tire of my lovely laminate :)
Wowser, nice floor you are going to have (I like your mitre saw). Wish I was there to help you install this. My father was a carpenter, and I have always liked working with wood.
ja teraz przybijam... kiedys robilam nieprzybijana als skrzypi a nie lubie :)
przybijana zostala
zobacze jak teraz pojdzie... teraz troche deszczu wiec wilgoci wiecej w drewnie a w zimie to przy centralnym troche sie rozstapi ale to deski wiec sie z tym licze...
Kaska; yes, I meant installing. I made the preperations , a kind of preserve the wood and my ex-husband installed it. Rather a lot of work, but we loved the result. and now after about 20 years, it is still very nice.
That's good thinking Mirka! You're still very young as far as I'm concerned and state of mind is everything too! I really think you're a born traveller and love the excitement of the road! But, it's wonderful that you are such a responsible and loving mother first! And good luck on your great projects there! I would add very 'ambitious' to my idea of you! :))
:) I'm not sure if ambitious is the right word... rather lazy...;) ambitious would get me somewhere and my mum said to me not so long ago when I told her "whem I'm grownup and rich.." : "you'll never be rich (in money) ... you like life too much" :) I kind of liked that :)
I love the tiled floor too... all natural floor coverings are nice.
The tiles would need change of the underfloor... and I'm afraid I'm not enough expert in doing that.
I like my kitchen now with the wood on the floor :) now to the workshop area... more than 2x the size...
wow...lots of work:)
but you'll love it when it is finished
Two years ago I ripped out all the wall to wall floorcovering and replaced it with hardwood.
We love it
