JustChillin's Fotothing

This is the best of three pictures I tried as the flash just didn't work down here. YES, that is ice and YES, it is green. It is caused by Arctic algae. It is about 20 feet thick in the middle with the deepest ice dating back 3400 years. You can not walk on it. It was 74 degree up above and 31 near the bottom here. April 29, 2009
