A cleavage should be treated like a sunset sight. You just take a peek, and should not keep staring at it!!! :))
Sunset on Omey Island
Omey Island - Sunset over the graves of Omey Island
A few miles beyond Clifden lies Omey Island, which is joined to the main land at low tide. the island is sizeable, about a mile wide by a mile long, wth a number of farms and houses still inhabited.
There is no road to the island and no bridge, just an open bank of sand and this can only be used when the tide is out. When the tide is coming in it surrounds the island in seconds, the tide covers the flat sand as fast as a moving stream and one can be waist deep or a car could be covered in a few minutes, before you get to the other side of the beach.
It is an interesting Island and we explored it during our holidays. I have posted a good batch of pictures explaining about the small Island off the West coast on Ireland. If you click on the Omey Island tag it will bring you to the restof the pictures. | |
