Yes Blindsfamily, we were very lucky to have a week of excellent weather in County Donegal. This year we had a very wet summer, in our area, we had some rain for 52 days without a fine day.

Yes bertel, the roof's are thatched with dried reeds or straw and on coastal areas,they are ties or netted down to protect from the Atlantic winds.
