this looks like such an awesome place for a hike and I'm blue with envy!

Most of our lakeshore state parks are simply right there at the beach. This one, however, encompasses a vast woody preserve as well, and is made up of oak forests growing in the ancient sand dunes. It's my favorite of the local state parks along Lake Michigan.

...and about 45 minutes from home. I'm sometimes wondering how we don't find time to go more often.

I know what you mean, there's always something else you have to do...
