You may recall a series I began last summer from a junkyard which the proprietor called "The Maine Museum Of Natural History," and which he claimed was a history of human activity in the Northeastern states. Here's another example of the collected relics.

The sign says "There is no Place Like This Place...."

Was there a dog there as well, and if so was it mean ???

Great question! No, there was no dog.

...funny, but when I first typed the reply, I wrote, "No, there was no god." Is that dyslexia or a subconscious statement of some sort?!

I'd like to think the latter...

Um... I'm not sure I'll ever be back there again. It's not on the way to anywhere and certainly not worth the trip once you get there.

The floor, and indeed the whole building, were rotting away. From the front of the building, it was stuffed so full that the doors could not be opened. The dude must have filled it from the backside and then carefully sealed it shut. What a mess!

Ziggy must live here?
Ha ha!

I chatted a while with the guy who owns all this stuff ~ much, if not all of it for sale, by the way ~ and he seemed quite normal, a very nice fellow. But seriously, one would have to be a little out of control to so completely fill ones' life with all this out in the middle of nowhere! Still, I would have taken some of it with me if I could have. ;-)

I didn't get to go inside the buildings; even proprietor dude said it wasn't safe. But he had about six school buses just packed full of more treasures, not to mention a dozen outbuildings and mobile homes. Crazy!

In a throwaway society, it is nice to see those who value the "stuff."

And it was very interesting, all that human history.

And actually a bit like a well-organized dump. ;-)

I would say that compulsive hoarding is this man's drug of choice. He's happy!
