The fuel tank was dented when I got the car, but since then the fuel gauge has quit indicating how much gas is left. I have run out of gas once since then and had to have missus JP rescue me at midnight (not far from home).
The transmission shop is awaiting a new valve body, as it's not a common part to have laying around, not in this city, and it should be completed by Monday afternoon.
The trans men assure me I'll be laying rubber and getting that 1-2 tire chirp when it upshifts. So much was broken and worn out after 40 years, it's amazing the car even moved anymore.
I think I'll be grinning. =)

Ford calls it Gulfstream Aqua. Mercury had a different name for it, but that escapes me at the moment.

Been there done that when I supercharged the 'Stang... Stepped into it... Heared a weird whining noise... roasted every plate in it... TKO is the way to go.

Good advice! I have ordered a pedal assembly from a '68 Galaxie from Sunman Ford in Arizona. Some day I'd like to swap in a floor-shifted TopLoader.
