Boating with friends yesterday, the weather went from this to stormy, cutting out time on the water a little short. I went out once more with three kids, and Sarah wanted to take the helm. This was on the river, and she already has very little driving experience. I was busy telling her things without sounding like a control freak when she suddenly ran the boat up on a sandbar or a muck pile. I quick grabbed the wheel, ran the tilt up on the engine, and we powered out of it. A bit farther ahead, I put the engine tilt back down and then we took off again. And then I hit a submerged log with the outdrive or propeller. ~BAM!~ I decided that was enough for the night and we pulled the boat out of the water. I'm gonna take the prop in for a rebuild this week.... =( | |
