Sometimes I think my long lens has much better clarity than that of my short lens.

cool test!
mine's not necessarily clearer, being the shakiest hand in the west-of-everywhere but I like how it focuses.

Maybe it's not the length of my lens that matters...? ;-)

It's all down to the quality of glass you have in your lenses, and a lot of companies use better glass in their longer lenses :-))

JP, I have found the same thing! It is so easy to take bad shots with a long lense!! I think Crunch hit it, they use better glass in long lenses. My wife has a really good short lens, a 12-60 zoom that takes excellent, crisp shots. Course it was over a grand for the lens... often you get what you pay for I guess..

This was shot with the longer zoom that came with my E-500; the shorter of the two seems never to be this sharp.

Yeah, I just "downgraded" to an old OM-mount analog 50mm lens, using an adapter ring. I haven't used it much yet, but I bought it for the better glass.
