Me and some friends went for a pilgrim visit to Mount Athos in Greece 2001. Its independant community, 20 orthodox monestaries who have their own authority. No women allowed for about 1000 years. Men only.
Most beautiful landscape and old housing. Some in bad condition but others restored.
