This is a nice picture Harvey. I'm thinking this might be a tourist type location (?) One of the buildings across the river seems to have a lot of nice framed art or something like that. What are those three (almost identical) buildings on the other side of the bamboo? That's an interesting raft the person is standing on...doesn't seem to be dressed like one of the locals. What can you say about the picture Harvey?
Hi Larry - Indain Village's main attraction is a bi-weekly farmer's market and at the other end of town an area of very old partially crumbling, buddhist temples. I was crossing this bridge having left the market and headed toward the temples when I took this picture. I hadn't seen any tourists in the area, but it's possible these small houses are trying to attract them. My path was straight ahead so I didn't pass them. The man in the center is not on a raft, but is guiding bundles of bamboo that are lashed together. I spent about 5 minutes on the bridge and saw many men on various size bundles floating by. Here is a picture taken on the bridge of some hard working women. Note how rudimentary the bridge is. Senna3 also took some excellent photos from the same bridge.
I have been following Peters photographs of Burma and loving them, so much happening on the water....I love this shot too.....and it has given me a good insight to Burma...so mu8ch so that it is now on our list of places to visit...Thanks
