My entry for moneyfriday is something my mother gave to me many years ago. I assume that she made it but she could also have purchased it someplace. It is a picture frame with a variety of old coins in it as follows from the top left:
1880 silver dollar, 1855 half dollar – well worn, 1892 quarter, 1891 dime, 1964 dime, 1941 dime, 1901 penny, 1957 penny, another penny, 1943 zinc covered steel penny (war years), 1776-1976 quarter, 1776-1976 half dollar, 1964 half dollar, 2 cent piece, 3 old nickels, 1937 nickel, and the center dollar is a silver certificate of the 1899 series. It has a picture of Lincoln on the left and Grant on the right at the bottom of the bill. It measures 3 1/8 inch by 7 3/8 inch, considerably larger than today's dollar. It is known as a horse blanket due to it's size.
I posted a bit early as I will be gone for a few days.
