We had a storm this past summer that broke many trees in our area. I found this one in the park. Someone had cut up th rest of the tree and disposed of it. But the stump was still there.

I found the little branch growing out to the right to be interesting. It obviously had stopped growing many years ago, yet the tree keep growing around it and protecting it. Until the wind broke open the trunk for all of us to see.
