Larry, this is a Daphne. Not sure what variety, but it had the most wonderful scent.

Snappa - the pink flowering shrub is a Daphne and it smells gorgeous ..... I'll have to get one. Sadly this is not my garden!

This really captures Spring ! I have several Daphne Mezereum trees, they don't grow very tall and grow easily from the berries produced when the flowers fade in late Spring. The flowers do have a lovely scent, but the shrubs are rather susceptible to frost !
