Gorgeous birds. I don't know what you are calling a Cowslip. Looks like a Canadian goose in the water.
Are the flowers named Cowslip?

A really delightful spot, wonderful wild life and beautiful cowslips. These flowers seem to be in short supply these days.

Many thanks everyone!
Larry - yes, cowslips are the flowers (botanical name: Primula veris) and I've just found out they're native only to "temperate Europe and Asia". And yes, the bird in the water is a Canada goose. They're very common here.

Thank you, Tegra. Yes, there aren't many cowslips around these days, but I was pleased to see that lots of them had been newly planted in this country park.

A great image...the mallard in the right of shot looks as though he is having a joke with you:) I planted some cowslips in my garden last year, and they are lovely at the moment:)

Thanks Barbara. I was wondering when someone else would notice the duck was laughing!
