This is a view from the seat of a cessna 172 of my hood !!!
cropped down to show my little slice of heaven at the very bottom center with the boat next to it.
wow - you have a wonderful place - and a boat too!!
My Dad's former boss had a couple of boats in Corpus Christi - and he used to joke that a boat was a hole in the water that you throw money into..:-))
Mowing - omg, in Houston we had St Augustine grass (developed at Texas A&M) and it was so lush and so quickly growing - it would choke out almost all weeds, was water and drought resistance (not that droughts EVER occur in Houston.:-)).
We would have to mow the grass at least - once a week - and that would be 2-4" minimum - all summer long. With a grass bag on the mower it would take almost 20 times emptying it into the compost pile!!
You can understand why as we became more affluent (a VERY relative term) (and I had to be careful of heat stroke because of medication) - that we employed a lawn service.
When I did the lawn including a weekly edging around the drive, sidewalks and along the street - it would take about 4-5 hours in the scorching heat with high humidity!!!
