Some did. Some were not so lucky. Lighting fires in the snow is quite a challenge. Dry wood is scarce and not having the surrounding snow melt and put your fire out adds to the challenge.
I'm glad that when I went thru scouting that it was in 100 heat and not this kind of cold... brrrrrrrr - it's a little chilly tonite in StL only 33 but a stiff wind and HIGH humidity - wind chill feels like -1000! :-))
(especially when I take Roxy out at night and she has to investigate every friggn spot first!)
