Before the 1-4 I had shot a lot of birds with the 100-300 (before it died). It works well too. The big difference I found was that my 1-3 was "consumer grade" and the 1-4 is "pro grade". MUCH, MUCH sharper images, so that even if you have to crop, the shot is still very sharp.
I see...I've checked your photos in Online magazine from the link you posted in one of the forums...I must say the quality are really PRO!!! I wonder if you ever have make money to one of your photos..
[blush] Thanks. Remember - I picked my absolute best shots from the 1000's that I've taken :) Never sold a single print. I've made 24x36 for relatives for Christmas gifts though.
Good for you! I put up a suet feeder a few weeks back and have yet to get anyone feeding on it! I wonder if it's the suet. Which blend are you using or are you making your own. That's next around here! :)
Great shot, too!
I agree with you on the lenses, too. When I got my pro...my shots really improved.
I don't recall the brand. The Suet is "nut and berry crunch" or some such. It had a picture of a woodpecker... All the little chickadees/juncos etc also pop in for a quick grab as well but they don't stay on the feeder... in and out.
