you'd think that someone who read almost 200 sci-fi books in one year (19 - working full-time at Walden Books and going to school full-time I read a book a day for a year) and was a scout would remember more about astronomy - but north star and dippers is all that stuck!! ..:-))

I make my cubs recognize at least 3 constellations and a couple of stars. I would like to think that they will some day actually remember them... You're not giving me much hope. LOL!

When I was a kid my best friend and I thought this looked like a huge footprint and called it 'Yeti'. We were really shocked to see it facing the other way one evening until we realised it looked like a footprint that way too because of the star at the top. This probably makes nooooooo sense what so ever, but your photo brought back a lot of memories, so thanks! 8- P
